The Registered Dietitians at Sööma use therapeutic approaches to inform their nutrition interventions within their scope of practice. Learn more about how we incorporate various therapeutic styles in our nutrition counseling.

Stefanie is a professional dietitian that specializes in intuitive eating and eating disorders. She has a BSc. in Dietetics from McGill University. She is member of the Ordre des Diététistes Nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ).

After graduating, Stefanie immediately started working in private practice. At first, she gave individual and group consultations in an exercise facility. She worked mostly with clients affected by chronic diseases and athletes trying to improve their performances. She quickly realized that most of her clients were concerned with their weight, had a history of dieting and poor body image and that this was the root of their problems. This pushed her to expand her knowledge of intuitive eating, disordered eating patterns and the harmful impacts of diet culture.

With a newfound commitment to help her clients heal their relationship with food, she focused her training in the fields. Eventually she moved on to work in an intuitive eating program which targeted women with histories of dieting, bulimia and binge-eating disorder. She used cognitive-behavioral therapy along-side intuitive eating, mindfulness and body image work with these clients.

She strives to keep expanding her knowledge and experience within this field.

In her practice, Stefanie applies the principles of intuitive eating, mindfulness and Health at Every Size® (HAES) to her nutritional recommendations. Her goal is to collaborate with her clients to help them develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

Stefanie offers consultation in French and English and can provide insurance receipts.
