Valerie is a registered dietitian dedicated to supporting individuals in overcoming eating disorders and cultivating a positive relationship with food and their bodies. With a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioural Neuroscience from Concordia University and a Master’s in Nutrition from McGill University, Valerie combines her psychological insights with nutrition expertise to empower clients on their healing journeys. She is a proud member of the Ordre des diététistes nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ).
Valerie’s clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She believes in fostering a collaborative and intuitive eating approach, tailoring her support to meet the unique needs of each individual.
In addition to her focus on eating disorders, Valerie has specialized training in Obstetrics and Gynecology, providing care for gestational diabetes, fertility nutrition, and postpartum support at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Her extensive background also includes work with adults facing various health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and digestive issues.
As a former competitive swimmer with over 15 years of experience, Valerie brings her passion for sports nutrition into her practice, helping athletes optimize their performance while maintaining a healthy relationship with food.
Fluidl in both English and French, Valerie offers a welcoming space for clients to overcome barriers and develop personalized nutrition strategies. She also provides insurance receipts for her services.
