Group therapy

Groups are an effective way to compliment individual treatment that you may be receiving. Groups allow individuals to share their lived experience and recovery with others who are navigating similar circumstances.

*** Group treatment alone is not recommended for eating disorder recovery ***

What is Group therapy?

At Sööma, group therapy brings together individuals navigating similar challenges in a supportive, professionally guided environment. Our groups are co-led or facilitated by experienced psychotherapists and registered dietitians who specialize in eating disorders, body image, and related concerns. Whether you’re practicing specific skills for your recovery in our Meal Support Group, processing emotions and experiences about your  body in our Body Image Group, or deepening self-awareness and identifying values-aligned actions in our ACT Group, each session offers a safe space for connection, skill-building, and healing. Group therapy at Sööma combines clinical expertise with the power of shared experience, helping participants feel seen, supported, and empowered in their journey.
