About Samantha

Background

Samantha is a therapist specializing in eating disorders. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Ottawa. She completed her master’s in Counselling Psychology at McGill University. She is currently completing her doctorate in counselling psychology, where her research focuses on the relationship between eating disorders and sleep. Samantha has completed most of her clinical training at the Eating Disorders Continuum at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, and has also worked in private practice for over three years.

Approach and Training

In her clinical work, Samantha has supported individuals with eating and body image concerns, anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, addiction, and difficulties with emotion regulation. She practices a warm, client-centred, trauma-informed approach, and transgender-informed approach. Drawing from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), she helps clients develop concrete skills for change, while also exploring the impact of past experiences on present difficulties. Samantha values creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward a life that feels meaningful.
