Our therapists under supervised practice are qualified mental health professionals who have completed graduate-level clinical training and provide therapy under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Supervision means they receive guidance and consultation to support their ongoing growth and ensure high-quality care — their supervisor does not attend sessions or have direct contact with clients.

About Katherine
Background
Katherine is currently a Ph.D./Psy.D. candidate in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Concordia University. Alongside her clinical training, her research examines the relationships between perinatal mental health and sleep quality.
Katherine completed a clinical stage at UQÀM’s Centre de services psychologiques, where she provided cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to adults experiencing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders. She has long been interested in the intersections between mental health, self-esteem, body image, and eating behaviours. Katherine is excited to join the Sööma team and expand her training in these areas.
Approach and Training
Katherine works from a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) framework while integrating a warm and collaborative approach. She believes that meaningful change occurs when clients feel both supported and empowered. In therapy, she helps clients better understand the patterns contributing to their difficulties, develop practical coping strategies, and build on their existing strengths. Katherine strives to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and respected as they work toward goals that align with their values and well-being.
Who She Works With
Katherine offers individual psychotherapy services to adults in French. Services in English will be available in the future.
Professional Status
Katherine is a doctoral candidate in psychology and provides services under the supervision of Lisa-Marie Sauvé, Psy.D., psychologist. The supervisor’s permit number will appear on all insurance receipts.
