About Mia
Background
Graduated in Nutrition from the Université de Montréal and a member of the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ), Mia has always had a deep passion for the field of nutrition. Growing up in a Lebanese family where food played a central role, she developed her culinary skills from a young age. Early in her studies, Mia became particularly interested in the connection between psychology and nutrition, which naturally led her to explore the field of eating disorders. Her role as a Digital Marketing Coordinator at Sööma deepened her understanding of the complexity of these conditions and the importance of compassionate, evidence-based care.
Approach and Training
About a year into her practice, Mia made the decision to specialize in eating disorder treatment, recognizing the profound impact these conditions have on individuals and their relationships with food and their bodies. She has pursued specialized training and continues to expand her expertise in this area. Guided by the belief that everyone deserves to find peace with food, Mia takes an empathetic, comprehensive, and collaborative approach in her work. She integrates gentle nutrition principles, tailoring her recommendations to meet each client’s unique needs, circumstances, and recovery journey. Additionally, Mia applies her knowledge of sports nutrition to help athletes of all levels build healthy, sustainable relationships with food while optimizing their performance and recovery.
Who She Works With
Mia primarily supports individuals navigating eating disorders and disordered eating, offering a safe and non-judgmental space for healing. She also works with recreational and competitive athletes who want to fuel their bodies effectively while maintaining a balanced approach to food and performance. Beyond these specialties, Mia has experience in digestive health and the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Mia is committed to providing accessible care and offers insurance receipts for her services.
