About Jamie

Background

Jamie is a registered dietitian specialized in the treatment of eating disorders and also identifies as a part of the BIPOC and AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community. Born and raised in Toronto, Jamie completed her Bachelors in Dietetics and accreditation at McGill University and stayed in Montreal to join the Ordre des diététistes nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ), and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the United States (AND).

Approach and Training

Jamie uses a collaborative and trauma-informed approach in her sessions and has experience working with individuals facing severe and enduring eating disorders (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia and binge-eating disorder), adults needing support around maintenance in recovery, later stages of recovery and/or intuitive eating, and adolescents and families seeking Family based treatment for Anorexia. Jamie offers and adopts a multidisciplinary team approach to eating disorder treatment.

Jamie is particularly passionate in supporting individuals navigating eating challenges within minority and racialized communities. With a strong commitment to cultural awareness, she integrates this lens into her practice, guiding clients to holistically understand the barriers that impact their relationship with food and their bodies. Her compassionate approach fosters an environment where individuals feel acknowledged and empowered to embark on their journey toward healing.

Believing that good health is always multi-factorial, Jamie supports the Health-at-Every-Size® movement and fosters an exploratory space for her clients to progress at their own pace, free from judgment.

Jamie has received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Family Based Treatment (FBT), often using a combination of these approaches in her treatment or nutrition care for eating disorders

Who She Works With
